Tenerife ... the Mountainous Island

Mount Teide on Tenerife is the largest mountain in Spain which towers over 3000 metres above the national park of 'Las Cañadas'. The north of the island is lush and fruitful which compliments the contrast of black sand on the rugged coastline washed by Atlantic Breakers. In the north, is the capital resort of Santa Cruz. The south of the island is more barren but is the location for the popular fun resorts of Playa de las Americas and Los Cristianos.

Also in the south is the up and coming resort of El Medano which is well known for the World Champion Windsurfing Contest which is held and televised from there annually. A small friendly resort with a couple of beaches that are frequented by naturists and several other beaches perfect for families.
